Burn Ointment - Ching Wan Hung Soothing Herbal Balm for Burn Treatment

Ching Wan Hung (Jing Wan Hong) is one of China's major herbal medicines for burns, so much so that it is used for serious third degree burns in hospitals. Ching Wan Hung Ointment stops pain, cools heat, decreases inflammation, and promotes the regeneration of damaged tissues due to burns. It can be used to treat any kind of burn on the body surface including burns caused by steam, hot water, flame, hot oil, chemical burns, sunburn and electrical burns. Use it topically for first, second, and third degree burns with blistering, redness and pain. It is often used during radiation treatment to prevent and/or heal radiation burns.

The ingredients include Chinese medicinal herbs that clear heat and detoxify fire poison (prevent infection and fight infection, if present); clear blood heat, dry dampness (eliminate pus); decrease swelling; stop pain and speed healing and regeneration of damaged tissues due to burns. After applying this ointment, the pain is usually stopped immediately or within minutes.

Use topically for first, second, and third degree burns with blistering, redness and pain. It has been applied to chemical burns, radiation burns, and sunburns, as well as burns caused by fire, electricity, steam, or direct contact with a hot liquid. It is also utilized to treat hemorrhoids, poison oak, poison ivy, dermatitis, ulcerative rashes, and bed sores. It acts to relieve pain, decrease inflammation and infection, and promotes the rapid growth of new skin. It is fast acting, alleviating burn pain almost immediately after application. It is useful in pediatric eczema and diaper rash.

More Information:
This ointment is excellent for treating hot spots, ulcerations, and rashes on dogs and cats.

The red color of the ointment comes from several of the herbs, hence the name "Wan Hung" (meaning myriad red ingredients; Ching means capital, referring to the origin of the formula in a capital city).

An important ingredient, representative of those selected to treat burns, is Pistacia chinensis , with its distinctive red foliage. It is used to treat ulcerations and rashes, and is a common remedy for dermatitis caused by contact with poison oak and similar allergens. The active components include tannins, such as gallic acid, and simple flavonoids, such as fisetin, fustin, and quercetin.

Directions, Ingredients, Contents:
For first or second degree burns, first clean the area, then rub the ointment directly on the surface area of the burn and cover it loosely with a band-aid or bandage.
For a severe second degree apply a think layer of the ointment and then cover it with a light and loose gauze bandage. Change the ointment and gauze twice a day.
For third degree burns with infection, the wound should be cleaned every day and larger amounts of the ointment should be used. Make sure to keep the wound covered, but not tightly. The area must be able to breathe.

Menthol 1%, Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) root, mastic (Pistacia Lentiscus L.) resin, myrrh leo-gum resin, quince (Chaenomeles spp.) fruit, safflower flower, sanguisorba (Sanguisorba officinalis L.) root, sesame oil, beeswax

this is advertised as a burn ointment but is works as so much more - it soothes bee stings and works on anything you might put polysporin on but it works so much better! The only drawback is the smell, but get over that because it heals very well!

The best treatment I've seen for burns.  Also works well for a number of "heat" type rashes and skin sores depending on the pattern.
