Aged Traditional Dit Da Jow Extract is like a fine aged herbal wine, because quality takes time. But don’t even think about drinking it, because this is just for external use only.
To assure better quality, Dit Da Jow Traditional Extract is aged in glass jars before being bottled as needed.
The Aged 1+ Extract has been steeped for a minimum of 12 months, and is usually more than 18 months.
The Aged 3+ Extract has been steeped for at least 3 years.
More Information
Did you know the darkness or coloration of Dit Da Jow is based on the herbs that go into making it? Some jows will be lighter, others darker. Sediment or floating particles show that the liniment was not filtered prior to bottling and has nothing to do with strength or potency of the liniment. Filtered Dit Da Jow will not have heavy sediment or floating particles. The potency of the jow depends upon the length of time it is aged before bottling, not the color! Jows have some potency after about 6 weeks, but should be left to age at least 6 months.

This very old formula (“recipe”) is made by soaking specific, hand-picked Chinese herbs in alcohol. Alcohol is an excellent solvent for extracting and preserving the parts of the herbs that are hard to dissolve in water. Alcohol is also an excellent natural preservative for shelf life.

Growing up in a traditional Chinese family in the 1950s, Dit Da Jow was used for many topical applications for its healing value. I’m so happy Modern Herb Shop has the same product conveniently available. I use it now after gym workouts to avoid muscle aches and healing bruises. Even my non-Asian friends are convinced of the miracle healing value of Dit Da Jow.
